How We Made This: Our Single Origin Artisanal Chocolate Bar with Heirloom Rosemary is handcrafted with care by our partner women's cooperative in Oaxaca. The women of the cooperative have been working with cacao for over 15 years and transforming it into beautiful cacao and chocolate products of the highest quality. Tenderly cultivated and locally-grown heirloom rosemary is showered on this bar for a fragrant aroma and flavor.
If you enjoy more of a crunchy, salty flavor, try our cacao nibs and sea salt variety.
How We Use This: Add to your favorite fruit and cheese platter when hosting loved ones, chop it up and add on top of cookies, or treat yourself to a post-meal snack.
Only 3 Ingredients: 70% cacao, cane sugar, and rosemary.

I had no idea what to expect when I opened the wrapper - chocolate AND rosemary? What an odd combination of two strong flavors!
The leaves of rosemary are clearly visible from the get-go, they create a very pretty pattern against the rich color of the chocolate. I expected them to be blended in and not obvious, so I really liked the surprise pattern.
With the first bite, I got a simultaneous rush (although not overpowering) of the chocolate and rosemary, separately. As someone who loves the smell but finds the flavor of rosemary overwhelming, I was taken aback. But within seconds the flavor seemingly transformed in my mouth as the chocolate melted, the combination producing a mild but full-bodied mint flavor. While at times I could detect the rosemary and chocolate separately, both had become more muted from that first rush of flavor, and then the flavors would seemingly swirl into each other, averaging out into the aforementioned mint.
I was, and still am, both confused by and excited to eat this chocolate - it’s a real treat!
